English is the third most spoken language in the world – after Chinese and Hindi. But it is the language spoken in most countries – 105 altogether. In addition to Great Britain – where it originated – it is also the first language in the USA, most of Canada, in Australia and New Zealand. Many Asian and African countries has English as the most important second language – for instance India and Ghana. Therefore knowledge of English is very important in the world today – not least with internet where it is the most used language!
